Cook County Launches Website With Photos of Unclaimed Bodies
The hope is that the new feature will help identify the deceased.
The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office launched a web page Wednesday that includes photos of unclaimed bodies and is meant to help families identify the deceased. (Readers are advised that the images available through the above links may be disturbing and/or graphic).
The medical examiner decided to launch the new feature after working with the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System's website in recent months, posing information about some unidentified bodies, including one woman who was later identified, according to the Chicago Tribune.
The website includes information on nine unidentified bodies and three of the bodies includes photos. A note on the website warns that the images may be graphic in nature. The dates that the bodies were found range from November 2010 and September 2012.

How sad that they felt like they had to do this. Those people must've died lonely. One of the addresses is just blocks from where i grew up. Can't imagine someone dying there and having the authorities find the body.
