Why have one big meal when you could have several mini-meals?
For this round of the Chowdown Showdown, we are in search of the best place to get tapas in McHenry County. For those of you who are not familiar with tapas, it is a Spanish cuisine composed of a wide variety of appetizers or snacks.
There are a handful of McHenry County restaurants that serve tapas. We would like to hear from you about which one is your favorite.
We will take comments in this article through Tuesday, April 17, about your favorite tapas restaurant in the county. Voting will stop at 5 p.m.
We will select the top finalists — the restaurants with the most comments — and place them in our finalists' poll. That poll will post on all McHenry County Patch sites the morning of Wednesday, April 18.

My vote goes to Tapas Calpe Restaurant which is actually located inside Orchard Prime Meats & Wine Shoppe at 133 W Main St, Cary, IL. Very friendly place with great and interesting tapas selections. Great blends of ingredients for unique flavors and a great wine selection as well.

Chef Stephen's food creations are amazing! Visual masterpieces as well as deliciously tempting selections offered on the menu. The variety of daily specials are always changing and exciting to discover when you walk in the door. Of course, the wine menu compliments all of the tapas dishes. And, the atmosphere is cozy, friendly, and even romantic!

We'd been to Aroma Tapas in Algonquin several times, but it looks like they have closed again. Any one know for sure what's happening there?

Cucina Bella in Algonquin serves up Italian food Tapa style on Wednesday's! I LOVE it there!
