Chowdown Showdown Fish Fry Challenge
This week we are looking for the best place to get a fish fry in McHenry County.
Much like teaching a man to fish can benefit him for a lifetime, telling a man (or woman) the best place for a good fish fry could leave them with a gem of information they will be wanting to check into.
This week, the McHenry County Patch Chowdown Showdown team is in search of the best place in McHenry County for a fish fry. We have had a couple readers request that we feature a Chowdown on fried fish so we know some of you are hungry for this information.
If you are new to the McHenry County Patch Chowdown Showdown, the chowdown is simply a fun and easy way for readers to let us know where their favorite restaurant is for pizza or chili or a burger. You can find all of our Patch Chowdown's here.
We are going to do voting a little different this week. Instead of putting a poll up with the finalists on Wednesday as we typically do, we are simply going to keep this article up all week and ask people to continue to vote for their favorite fish fry restaurant by commenting below.
The restaurant with the most "votes" or comments by noon on Friday will be named this week's Chowdown champion. So be sure to comment and pass this article on to friends to comment by e-mailing or sharing on social media. The more votes the better!

HANDS DOWN ABSOLUTE BEST PLACE....Keifs Reef in Burtons Ridge. All you can eat, with salad bar. Fantastic meal for around $12
(Pretty sure it's in McHenry Co, might be Lake, close enough- well worth the trip!)

My votes for trio grille no other place compares to the flavor and spices trio has. Not only is there food good but they have excellent service. You won't be disappointed. There fish fry is awesome and they pack their plates with only the best.

I would have to say Trio Grille in Marengo!! Didnt even know about the place until one of my friends had a birthday party at Glo-Bowl. Trio is an Amazing Restuarant inside of a bowling alley. And they have an extraordinary Menu!!! The Cod and Live Music on Friday Nights are great!!!!

Trio Grille is my favorite, I want to try the others. I feel a road trip coming on. At Trio it is not what you would expect in a bowing alley. I like the baked walleye the best. We sit near the fire place and listen to some great music.

I have to say. I beleive that the Trio Grill in Marengo IL has the best fish fry. They only use fresh fish which they get in every week. They make there own beer batter and it is great. There baked fish is the best. If;you like cod it melts in your mouth.
