We had more than 50 captions submitted for the photo of a dog and deer staring at each other in a grassy field in our first Caption This contest. Many thanks to all who participated!

The Patch judges awarded title of best caption to Alan Donahue for his riff on Carly Rae Jepsen's Call Me Maybe. His caption: "This is crazy, but here's my number. So call me, Bambi."

* The esteemed Patch judges will pick our favorite and announce it Monday, along with a new photo to caption.
