Blues, Rock, Swing Combine in Energetic Show

Mo' Beat Blues performing at Sun City.

Mo’ Beat Blues’s Samuel and Janice Lozada like to perform their renditions of popular blues, jazz, rock and big band tunes to audiences of all ages.

But they really enjoy performing for seniors.

“We are just trying to bring some joy to them for just one hour,” Janice Lozada said.

Mo' Beat Blues is performing at Sun City Huntley from 2 to 3pm Tuesday, making a return engagement.

Samuel Lozada has been a musician for most of his life but began performing professionally about 10 years ago. He’d been a truck driver prior to his new career, Janice said.

“It’s a really high, energetic, upbeat musical program,” Janice said. “We do blues, jazz, rat pack, some swing. It’s all familiar songs to older generations.”

Samuel plays  the keyboard, base guitar, acoustic drums and does a harmonic solo, she said.

Mo’ Beat Blues has been performing throughout the area, including the United Center in Chicago before Chicago Bulls basketball games, Janice said. The Lozadas performed 250 shows last year.

Mo’ Beat Blues focuses on performing for senior communities. The Lozadas hope to “give high quality programs” to seniors. The two motivate and energize everyone, she said.

Tuesday’s show is open to the general public. Jancie said people of all ages will enjoy the show. Tickets are still available. For ticket information, go to http://www.sccah.com/events/event_details.
