Federal Judge Dismisses Bianchi's Civil Suit

The lawsuit was filed against special prosecutors hired to investigate McHenry County State's Attorney Louis Bianchi.

A federal judge has dismissed a civil rights lawsuit filed by McHenry County State's Attorney Louis Bianchi against special prosecutors hired to investigate him, according to the Daily Herald.

Bianchi has been indicted and acquitted twice on corruption charges for accusations that he and his secretary used his office and company resources for campaign work. The most recent acquittal came in August 2011.

U.S. Judge Robert Dow dismissed the lawsuit last week and in his ruling stated Thomas McQueen and Henry Tonigan had immunity as special prosecutors on the case, according to the Northwest Herald. The lawsuit alleged the prosecutors were "motivated by politics and money," according to the NW Herald.

Bianchi has four weeks to re-file the lawsuit, according to the Daily Herald.

All I can say is its too bad that these lawyers were not sucessful in the first place..Where there is smoke there is fire and thank goodness the judge threw out this case. Can you sue for vendetta? I just wish a new Republican attorney of outstanding character would run in the next election..we need to wipe the slate clean in McHenry County.
