Behind the Badge

Meet your area sergeant with the Huntley Police Department.

 

 

This week marks National Police Week, which recognizes the service and sacrifice of law enforcement officers throughout the country.

It’s also a good time to learn about the people behind the badge in your local police department. Huntley police department has geographical beats and four sergeants are assigned to handle the areas and officers.

Today, Sgt. Scott Sullivan is profiled. He is the Area #3 Sergeant:

Sullivan is a 2001 graduate of Western Illinois University in downstate McComb. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Law Enforcement and Justice Administration and a minor in Sociology.

He joined the Huntley police department in June 2002 and attended the Police Training Institute at the University of Illinois in Champaign.

As a Huntley police officer, he has had many roles. Sullivan worked as a patrol officer, a field training officer, officer in charge, bicycle officer, instructor for the Citizen's Police Academy, Evidence Custodian, member of the Recruiting Team, member of the Policy Review Committee, and a CareTrak instructor.

Sgt. Sullivan is another outstanding representative of the Huntley Police Department. He is a good listener, kind, knowledgeable, and at all times professional.
