A McHenry County woman was arrested Thursday after she allegedly abused a minor in her family.

Barbara J. Hardgrave, 62, of 8509 Memory Trail in Wonder Lake was charged Jan. 26 with aggravated battery Class 3 Felony) and domestic battery (Class A Misdemeanor) after the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Bureau received information from the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services regarding Hardgrave physically abusing a minor family member, according to the Sheriff's Office.

A joint investigation between the two agencies resulted in Hardgrave's arrest.

She was transported to the McHenry County Adult Correctional Facility, had her bond set at $15,000 and given a court date of Feb. 7.

According to the McHenry County Circuit Clerk's website, Hardgrave had an order of protection filed against her in October 2011 by Eddie Hardgrave, who is listed at the same address.
