Only one dog could pull off this costume for Halloween; celebrity Pomeranian starts working for another good cause
Halloween is a hooooowwwwling good time around Aldens Kennels in Ringwood. Some of the resident pooches have been known to dress up for the occasion. Others are more subdued, though they still look forward to the puppy safe treats. But, there is one dog at Aldens that doesn’t have to worry about dressing up for Halloween. That dog is Bambi, the celebrity Pomeranian.
Bambi is widely known as the dog that sets the standard for cute. He has starred in videos, been photographed by world-famous photographers and makes public appearances on a regular basis. Bambi is even scheduled to star in an upcoming commercial.
For anyone who has fame on their side, deciding what to wear on Halloween is always a more delicate question. But, Bambi isn’t just any celebrity. Frequently compared to beer commercial icon Dos Equis, for Bambi, fame has a natural fit. This adds a whole new equation to the idea of choosing just the right costume for Halloween
“He’s decided to go as himself,” said Janet Domrase, a member of Bambi’s posse. “We were trying to think of a costume he would like but, when he barked, we knew he was right and what could be better?”
Bambi is the perfect costume though there is probably only one dog that could truly pull it off. And that dog, of course, is Bambi.
Bambi is more than just another cute pup; he’s also funny, caring and considerate. In terms of caring, consider his recent involvement raising funds for Paws For A Cause, an event in Spring Grove that raised money for the Centegra Gaver’s Breast Cancer Center and Breast Care Fund. Now, Bambi is ramping up to contribute to another worthy cause – Shop With A Cop.
Bambi is an honorary member of MC3, the McHenry Area Chamber of Commerce business networking group. The group is holding a fundraiser Thursday, Nov. 15, at the McHenry VFW on Route 120 east of the Fox River. And Bambi is busy collecting contributions.
The Shop With A Cop event is really a party. Though Bambi is rumored to have a prior commitment, he does encourage others to attend.
“Bambi said it’s a great time,” said Domrase. “They have live and silent auctions, games, food and drinks and live entertainment. They even have a competition between the McHenry High School choir and the Johnsburg High School choir. Previous years, the signers have arrived wearing Victorian costumes.”
While the singers look spectacular in their holiday fashions, even they couldn’t pull off the Bambi costume.
