Get Flu Shot at JEWEL-OSCO Pharmacies and Help Local Youth
If consumers want another good reason to get a flu shot, between JEWEL-OSCO and The Chicagoland Youth Football League (TCYFL), customers can get a flu vaccination at any JEWEL-OSCO Pharmacy in Illinois and give back to local youth sports at the same time.
To participate in the program, which runs through Nov. 11, consumers can obtain the voucher from TCYFL’s website, http://www.tcyfl.net. Customers just fill out the voucher with the name of their team and turn in the form at their neighborhood JEWEL-OSCO Pharmacy when they receive a flu shot.
A portion of the proceeds from the vaccinations will then be given to TCYFL Cares and each nearby TCYFL member community, to help fund youth football scholarships. Donations to each organization will vary based on the number of shots given in the community. The top two organizations will receive an extra contribution.
With hundreds of teams from 30 member communities, TCYFL is the largest independent youth tackle football league in the United States. Huntley Youth Football, LA Junior Eagles (representing Lake in the Hills and Algonquin), and Crystal Lake Raiders are among the area youth football groups that can benefit from the voucher program.
JEWEL-OSCO pharmacies provide flu immunizations daily, on a walk-in basis, during regular pharmacy hours. Customers are also able to schedule appointments to receive the flu vaccine, by calling 800-783-0458 or visiting their local pharmacy. Patients can choose from the traditional flu shot, needle-free FluMist® nasal spray and the Fluzone® high dose. Visit http://www.jeweloscopharmacies.com to find the nearest location.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends the flu vaccine for everyone over the age of six months and especially for higher-risk populations, including seniors and people with chronic health conditions.
