Cathy was born January 10, 1973 in Hoffman Estates, the daughter of Gerald and Carol (Feddersen) Colby.  She was raised and educated in Schaumburg, graduating from Schaumburg High School in 1991.  She was united in marriage to Brian M. Whiting on September 7, 1996.  The couple made their home in Tulsa, Oklahoma and in 2001 moved to Huntley.  Cathy raised her children and in 2007 started as a bus driver for District #158.  She lived life to the fullest and especially enjoyed her time with her family.

She is also survived by her brother, David Colby of Sioux City, Iowa, her grandmother, Cecilia Feddersen of Tomah, Wisconsin and her father and mother-in-law, Gary (Margaret) Whiting of Schaumburg.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 15 and the family will greet friends from 12 p.m. until service time at Trinity Lutheran Church, 11008 N. Church Street, Huntley.
